DIAGNOSIS-REAL & IMAGINARY-TRADITIONAL & ALTERNATIVE

A lot of is made of 'DIAGNOSIS' in WESTERN MEDICINE under the assumption that naming a symptom or naming an illness, disease or condition,etc. is the first step in making any adjustments, treatments, cures, and the like..... Too many fall into this 'trap' which then fixes the emotional and intellectual aspects of the descriptions used or mentioned in the minds of the patients or the afflicted...... In the past, a number of conditions,usually incurable and dangerous or the like, were not mentioned to the patient having them but sometimes only to close family members...for example, cancer in a wife was mentioned by the physician to the husband only,etc....this early standard of 'privacy' often gave 'false hopes' to those doomed to death, no doubt.....However, more stringent policies of privacy today often obstruct and limit even a better understanding of one's conditions... WESTERN MEDICINE has placed a great emphasis on identifying the various diseases and conditions that the human body can be subjected to and also the possible treatments and approaches,such as drugs or surgery...all well and good and the 'modern marvels of medicine' have worked miracles in some instances it would seem, especially as the technological advances have shown.....but reliance on just lab tests and technology,which involves much screening, x-raying, mri's, and other things....have isolated the physician and the doctor and the healer from teh patient in many great respects... The FACTORY SYSTEM of treatment now operating in most places where the patient is one of many all seen at nearly the same time by a doctor, dentist, or other 'health provider' simply puts one patient in one room and then he or she is quickly shunted out of that room after a bried and usually cursory examination(which necessitates more visits and more tests as rule with some exceptions)and another patient enters and goes through the same approach....Doctors also charge by each and every motion they make in such examinations or treatments.... Insurance companies also determine certain health and medical procedures and medicines and the like and restrict doctors in many ways...although some doctors have their own policies and refuse certain insurance plans and the like...now some do this for 'medicare/medicaid'... Consequently, a more traditional approach to diagnosis is simply to find where the energies and blockages in the body are found and to begin from there,which means usually the determination of the various pulses of the body, the 'color' of the patient, and the discussion held with the patient plus the experience and training of the physician who begins this way...following a sort of 'classical' approach...... As I delve into this and attempt to describe these things as best I can under the circumstances, I find there is a vast body of things that anyone who either attempts to assist others in their personal healing of things or for themselves really need to know and to understand.....

BEYOND ACUPUNCTURE

I decided to title my TV Project: BEYOND ACUPUNCTURE, TONG REN 'THE BRONZE MAN' and have finished this and soon it will be broadcast.....I am then going to do one possibly titled: ACUPUNCTURE WITH NEEDLES....and then go on to other acupuncturists for a shor series on this and then to other areas of 'ancient and alternative' healing systems if possible and depending on the practitioners willingness to reveal themselves and their practice and arts....and to confront my questions and comments on things, which is often an irritation and aggravation and hurdle for some of them, no doubt....but I do not want to present things as if I am endorsing their views and their efforts beyond the obvious and informative, much as I might like what they do personally,etc.

TONG REN HEALING THERAPY

For some years now I have been aware of TONG REN THERAPY, a system of healing set up by TOM TAM, who has based his current methods on ACUPUNCTURE but who has dispensed with the use of needles and having to actually touch the person seeking remedies for various illnesses and maladies.....Simply put, this system heals by long distance, and is a sort of 'no-touch' or no physical contact except by means of vibrations and rhythm and certain energies........ My present TV project is an interview with two persons who are versed in this helaing system and who conduct "guinea pig classes' whereby the methods employed are utilized along with a most comprehensive book of 'points' and the 'Bronze' or GLASS/BRASS/COPPER MAN, a figure know to those in traditional TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) and,of course, in CHINESE MARTIAL ARTS...where 'delayed' death touches are legendary, as devotees of 'kungfu' movies will realize..... In recent years, interest in 'HEALING FROM A DISTANCE' as well as "DEATH FROM A DISTANCE' has increased, beyond the early interest in 'thought transference', 'mind reading' 'telepathy', telekinesis, and other psychic powers and influences and practices.....to where the military and clandestine forces,such as, the CIA,etc. have taken up some lines of research, study, development and the like,all of which have been sensationalized in the various media, from movies to books and magazine articles as well as courses offered by certain people and groups...... As intersting and fascinating as all this is for most of us who have some kind of interest in the occult and arcane, few of us wish to devote our waking hours to the pursuit of such, for obvious reasons that will escape most people who are 'power' hungry and who wish to influence others, usually againt the recipients' wills and so on.

TEENAGER SOLVES THE RIDDLE OF WHY ACUPUNCTURE WORKS???!!!!

According to the latest SCIENCE ILLUSTRATED, the riddle of why acupuncture works,despite various studies and conjectures of the past, is that the needles apparently stimulate the flow of adenosine and further research is underway to determine ways to increase the benefits of standard methods of acupuncture, etc. The article raises many questions among healers who do not use needles or traditional acupuncture but base their methods on acupuncture and energy flows or energy flow theories and similar notions and WHO DO NOT ACTUALLY TOUCH THE BODY OF THE PATIENTS IN ANY WAY....so the question remains how do such treatments bring the benefits of acupuncture to the patients with not touch......this is an interesting question on many levels and which I hope to further study when I have time.....

'VIBRATIONAL' 'VOODOO' & HEALING METHODS

THE POWER OF SUGGESTION,whether self-inflicted or self-articulated, cannot be underestimated but it usually is. We tend to think of such in terms of "POWER'-SUGGESTIONS IMPOSED OR GIVEN US BY OTHER PEOPLE OR GROUPS TO WHICH WE BELONG or coming from 'people sopurces' as well as 'advertising' media and varous sublte 'cues' as via television,movies, and a lot of time from books, if we read them. Recorded audio discs or tapes can deliver 'suggestions' to us at various times, as in auto travel, bedtime listening, or in relaxed moods. RELAXATION and even BREATHING are also keys to the efficiencey of suggestionm, that is, entering or eperiencing a 'passive' state. Only a few 'active' systems of such exist and which involve body motion(s) of specific kinds, that is, those you might be able to use and understand on your own. SUGGESTION and MOTIVATION are closely linked and sometimes indistinguishable. For many, SUGGESTION IS 'THE POWER OF HYPNOTISM' which many fear and misunderstand and perhaps misuse. Notions of power and contgrol are 'suggested' to many when the hear the word 'hypnosis' mentioned.

THE ELIXER(S) OF LIFE

Mankind in its QUEST FOR IMMORTALITY has long sought out various elixers and herbs and a number of practices to enhance LONGEVITY,if not 'immortality'. DIET,BREATHING, & EXERCISE(effort) have long been considered as 'THE KEYS TO A LONG LIFE' if not 'immortality'. All this when viewed historically has led to various conclusions by both science and religion,which sometimes seem at great odds with each other, until we realize that scientific and religous dogmas are relative to actual experience and that theories and conjectures all demand actual proof. 'THE SECRETS OF IMMORTALITY' whether from a scientific,religous, or philosophical point of view are not easily attained since no one reaches 'immortality' as most conceive of such. Since worlds come and go and MOTION(S)seem evident,nothing can be seen as 'ETERNAL', since the UNIVERSE( word used to cover all kinds of phenomena)is moving, changing, as is the earth on which live humans who are concerned with 'immortality' and life prolongments, for themselves individually and selfishly mostly. 'THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH' is a special notion that many have come to believe in and attempt to seek on various levels and on smaller scales; some believing it can be achieved by degrees. It may have been that such a fountain-notion came about from drinking water in certain places and in this water was various minerals that seemed to help people,cure diseases of some kinds and when used for cooking as well as drinking, seemed to 'energize' them. Additons of herbs and plants alos may have led to the belief that concoctions of various items could leand eventually to 'panacea', universal cures and agents of longer living throughsuch consumption of these special concoctions. Others in their quest for immortality have looked to less material apsects and so developed a vast number of systems-which can be called 'spiritual', 'mystical', 'occult-esoteric', 'psychic',etc. But for the most part, another approach uses the body and its systems which have both elaborately complex descriptions as well as simpler ones, tgo achieve such a goal as 'immortality' or 'longevity'. IN THIS SENSE: the practices are 'INTERNAL'. So schools of 'external' and 'internal' existbut they are not the complete answer it would seem. THE 'EXTERNAL' & 'THE INTERNAL',which can be placed under other 'headings' like 'hot' & 'cold','wet' & 'dry', 'positive' & 'negative',etc.,all dualistic considerationsof course, need to be united and utilize a third aspect which may be called a 'CATALYST' or 'NEUTRAL FORCE' which few can perceive so they are really 'blind'.

MUSIC AFFECTS THE BRAIN!

The latest 'conclusions' by various modern 'experimenters' ARE THAT MUSIC INFLUENCES THE BRAIN,SOMETHING KNOWN, REALILZED, AND USED BY MANY 'NON-SCIENTISTS' or 'BRAIN WORKERS'! It has to do not only with 'education' and 'music appreciation'(as ineffective as they are in modern institutions of learning from preschool to universities)but with PHYSIOLOGICAL CHANGES through auditory sensations which are 'VIBRATIONAL'-sounds stimulating 'the nervous system' that releases or stimulates 'brain secretions' or cause certain 'physio-chemical' reactions. It is more than a mere 'bell-ringing' exercise,though TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS and similar chiming,ringing metals have been known to have 'effects on the brain'! One wonders,then, what powerful and inaudible sounds(to the HUMAN ear) can have as an effect on all human behaviour,including mere 'ringing in the ears'(tinnitis?) and how it affects healing and health... The human 'psyche' seems to be affected by music or that which passes for such,whether atonal or dissonant, as well as other sounds that are 'non-musical' or what are actually 'rhythm and vibrations' of any kind.... The brain waves of the human brain can also be detected and controlled to some extent. Commercial devices that emit sounds to keep away mice, rodents, deer, cats, dogs,skunks, insects,etc. come to mind. I personally do not want such around my house b ut my neighbor next door has one he shwoed me recently and is going to set up. If I want any such device, I WANT ONE THAT KEEPS PEOPLE AWAY! Maybe that is why I like skunks to roam about my place.....
